Where do the surf lessons take place?
All
of our surf lessons take place at Macao Beach. Our stand up paddleboard lessons
take place at Bavaro Beach.
Where do we meet?
Our transfer will pick you up;)
What do I need to bring?
Beach towel, sunscreen with a high degree protection,
swimsuit, a bottle of water.
Where can I store valuables during my lesson?
We encourage you to leave anything valuable or important
in your hotel room or at home. We will provide you with somewhere to store your
clothes.
Do lessons include the rental of equipment as well?
Yes! Our lesson prices include everything that you need.
What will the water temperature
be?
The water temperature Punta Cana will hover around 80
degrees. These perfect temperatures mean wetsuits are not necessary. We will
supply you with a rashguard (equivalent to 50SPF protection) to prevent sunburn
and rashes.
What if it’s raining?
You’re going to get wet ;))
Can I change my lesson date or time?
We try to stay flexible and can usually accommodate
changes to booked lessons – as long we have more than 24 hours notice.
Can I wear contact lenses in the surf?
Yes, but not glasses.
Will I be able to stand up on my first lesson?
Everyone learns at a different pace but most people do
stand up on their first lesson. We recommend you take a course of at least
three lessons to really experience the feeling of surfing. Check out our
beginners surfing package.
How long does it take to learn to surf?
That really depends on how well you want to surf! We
recommend at least three lessons to get the feeling of surfing.
What age range are your
students?
We have students of all ages from 5yrs old upwards. There
is no upper age limit and we have introduced people in their sixties and
seventies to the fun of surfing and paddle boarding.
Should I tip my instructor?
Our team works hard to exceed your expectations and
ensure that you have an unforgettable experience. If at the end of your
lesson you are pleased with the performance of your instructor, a gratuity is
never expected but would be greatly appreciated.
Do I need to book?
It is best to book in advance. If you leave it to
the last minute or just drop in, there are no guarantees we will be able to fit
you in. Many days, particularly in the height of summer, can be fully
booked. We work to strict coaching ratios, so this places limitations on us
with staffing levels. The earlier you can book your surf lessons, the
better as this means you will definitely be able to have surf lessons at the
time you want.
